TROMSO

Tromso, also known as the Arctic Capital is the largest city north of the Arctic Circle; covering more than 965 square miles, this Norwegian city is almost as large as the entire country of Luxembourg. Founded in 1794, Tromso now has some 72,000 inhabitants, many of whom attend a handful of local institutions, including the University of Tromso; the Norwegian College of Fisheries Science, one of only two universities in the world dedicated exclusively to fishing as a livelihood; and the Centre for Peace Studies. Although locals refer to Tromso as an island, the city actually includes the island of Tromsoya, Kvaloya on the mainland to the east. (Tromsoya is connected to the mainland by the iconic Tromso Bridge).
The cruise season lasts from mid-February to December, which means you can choose the time of year you'd like to visit.
