Celebrity Apex is the second of four new cruise ships to debut in the Celebrity's Edge Class. Apex will be launched in spring 2020 and will feature several innovations. One of the most important innovations is the "Magic Carpet" cantilevered platform on the sea, cabins with "infinite" balconies designed to blend from the inside to the outside with folding doors, a Resort Deck that will have a large swimming pool flanked by sculptural trees and two whirlpools. All four vessels are under construction at the STX shipyard in France. The two ships as yet unnamed will be launched in autumn 2021 and spring 2022. The biggest feature is the “Magic Carpet” which can move up and down from deck 2 to deck 16 and its function will vary depending on which deck it is placed on. Celebrity Apex will set sail for a mini-season of five Northern European cruises from Southampton, including the Norwegian Fjords and a 10-night trip to the Northern capitals between Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo and Paris.
