With her medium-sized capacity and classic style, the Maasdam can be described as a manageable and pleasant ship. After eighteen years of service, it has managed to maintain its youth - with a major intervention of contemporary inserts in both 2006 and spring 2011. As such, Maasdam's 1,258 passengers has always referred to a middle-aged audience high while maintaining the traditions and entertainment most demanded by them - high tea, formal nights, ballroom dancing and antiques displays - while adding new elements allowed it to appear to a younger audience. These newer features include two alternative contemporary restaurants, wireless hotspots, three new trendy bars and an iPod tour of antiques.
