The new ship MSC Virtuosa takes its name from the word “virtuoso”, which indicates a person who is particularly gifted musically and excellent. Each bridge, in fact, takes the name of a different musical instrument. MSC Virtuosa is one of the two largest ships in the MSC Cruises fleet, accompanying its sister ship, MSC Grandiosa. Delivery of MSC Virtuosa is scheduled for October 2020. MSC Virtuosa's maiden voyage will depart Genoa in November 2020 with a seven-night cruise in the Western Mediterranean. After the winter season in the Mediterranean, MSC Virtuosa will leave for Northern Europe to visit the Norwegian fjords and the Scandinavian capitals of the Baltic Sea throughout the summer of 2021.
