Misty Ketchikan, the rainiest city in southeastern Alaska, is known as the "Capital of the Salmon World". The city offers the perfect mix of activities: kayaking in the Misty Fjords or hiking on Deer Mountain in the morning, then taking a ride in and out of fantastic galleries and shops in the afternoon.you have to visit Creek Street, a row of wooden buildings suspended over the water on poles. The once hand-painted boutiques were aimed at gentlemen looking for the company of "sporty women". The Dolly's House museum offers a glimpse into the obscene ways of life on the border, although Ketchikan's red light district was not closed until 1953.Legends of a different kind are recorded on the totems. With the world's largest collection of totems in the northwest, Ketchikan offers many places to see these fascinating works of art.
