Helsinki is a city with a variety of identities. Maybe it is the Russian influence. Perhaps it is the strong appreciation of contemporary design: the capital of Finland hosts Marimekko, renowned for its bold fabrics; Kalevala, known for its distinctive bronze and silver jewelry; and Iittala, known for its glassworks. The city could also be known for its dark, cold, and snowy winters in the last half of the year.
