ST MARTEEN

St. Maarten two islands in one. One French and one Dutch, in fact this island like many others was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493. But the real history of the island began with French and Dutch settlers who divided the island in 1648.  Today it is one of the busiest islands in the Caribbean, thanks in part to the cruises that dock in Philipsburg and sometimes you can find six of them in the same day. That's why it's teeming with shops and commercial attractions of all kinds, but if you dock here by boat, don't make the mistake of not renting a car or motorbike to get around the island and visit the main beaches, which are nothing short of stunning and some of the most beautiful in the Caribbean.
