FLAAM

Flam, which means "a small place with steep mountains", could not have a more perfect name. The village has a population of 450 and is located on the Aurlandsfjord, the innermost arm of the second-longest fjord in the world, Sognefjord, which stretches halfway to Sweden. With its snowy mountains, waterfalls, rivers, meadows, and picturesque farms, Flam is beautiful all year round, but most popular in the summer when travelers are here for outdoor activities. Flam is also a good starting point for a day trip to Naeroyfjord, an arm of Sognefjord and recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
